More about Cannabis

THC or Tetrahydrocannabinol

The most commonly known compound found in cannabis and is the most active component. THC breaks down and enters the blood stream when a person applies heat and introduces it into the body. THC attaches to the CB1 receptors resulting in changes to the movement, pain, emotion, mood, thinking, appetite and many other functions.

CBD or Cannabidiol

Non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in marijuana that stimulates the receptors in our body to produce its own cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids.

CB1 receptors are present throughout the body, but particularly in the brain. They coordinate movement, pain, emotion, mood, thinking, appetite, memories, and other functions.

CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system. They affect inflammation and pain.

Endocannabinoid system (ECS):

a complex cell-signaling system within our bodies. It plays a role in regulating a range of functions including sleep, appetite, pain, mood and memory. The ECS is active in our bodies even without the use of cannabis.

CBD can aid in the management of symptoms as a result of:

      • chronic pain
      • arthritis or joint pain
      • anxiety and depression
      • sleep disorder
      • migraine
      • cluster and other headaches
      • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
      • nausea
      • cancer
      • allergies or asthma
      • epilepsy and other seizure disorders
      • multiple sclerosis (MS)
      • lung conditions
      • Parkinson’s disease
      • Alzheimer’s disease

Full Spectrum CBD vs. THC-Free CBD:

Full spectrum CBD products contain small amounts of other cannabinoids, such as THC, terpenes and flavonoids. THC-free CBD products are further refined to remove any trace amounts of cannabinoids and terpenes and as such, only contain CBD.

CBD for Pets:

While CBD is known to aid humans in symptom relief, it may also provide equal relief to your 4-legged loved ones. CBD pet products come in a variety of forms such as infused treats and soft chews, oral tinctures, and topicals. It can be used to address a variety of animal maladies including anxiety, skin conditions, arthritis, pain, seizures and appetite issues.
